Features and Benefits
Fully Assembled Cartridge – For Quick and Easy Installation.
Operation and Maintenance
How It Works
When you press the flush handle on the toilet, the handle kit linkage depresses the cartridge. When the cartridge is depressed, it starts the flush cycle by letting the pressurized water out of the vessel and into the toilet bowl. When the handle is released, the cartridge rises back up to its closed position. The tank then refills with water and is ready for the next flush.
Removal
1. Shut off water to the toilet.
2. Flush toilet to relieve pressure in the tank.
3. Use a cartridge wrench or adjustable pliers handles to turn the cartridge counter-clockwise.
4. Fully unthread the cartridge from the tank and lift the cartridge up out of the tank.
Helpful Hint: Sometimes the cartridge is very stubborn and doesn’t want to break loose. Using a hairdryer to warm the cartridge and the threads in the tank while turning the cartridge will often do the trick.
Installation
1. Place the cartridge into the threaded opening in the tank.
2. Turn the cartridge counter-clockwise until it drops down and aligns with the threads. (this is to prevent cross-threading the cartridge)
3. Using a cartridge wrench or the handles of an adjustable pliers, turn the cartridge clockwise until it is tight. (do not overtighten)
4. Adjust the black plastic cartridge actuator so there is just enough space to fit a dime between it and the handle linkage.
a. Loosen the screw in the top of the actuator.
b. Adjust the plastic actuator by turning clockwise (down) or counter-clockwise (up)
c. Tighten the actuator screw.
5. Turn on the water and test flush.
