Description
This Elkay Solenoid Valve 35981C is found in Elkay EZ and Halsey Taylor HTV series base drinking fountains manufactured before July 2008. This solenoid will not work with bottle fillers. The unit will have a model number ending in “A” or “B” and a serial number lower than 0807xxxxx.
Operation and Maintenance
How It Works This solenoid valve controls the flow of water. When the push bar is pressed, a switch behind the push bar sends electricity to this valve, which opens the valve and lets water flow. When the push bar is released, the solenoid closes and water flow stops.
Troubleshooting If your water continues to flow after you release the push bar, unplug the drinking fountain from the wall. If the water continues to flow after the unit is unplugged, you have a bad solenoid. Once the solenoid valve goes bad it must be replaced.
