Description

This Zurn 59517005 Short Cold Ceramic Cartridge fits Zurn quarter-turn faucets with the an exposed retaining nut. Replacing this cartridge, resolves water leaks from the handle as well as the spout of the faucet.

Operation and Maintenance

Troubleshooting

Problem:

• 1. Water continuously running out of the spout.
• 2. Water is leaking at the retaining nut.

Solution:

• 1. Replace the hot or cold Cartridge. – See helpful hint below to help determine which cartridge needs to be replaced.
• 2. Replace the hot or cold Cartridge, depending which side is leaking.

Helpful Hint – Shut off either the hot or the cold water supply. This will help to determine which cartridge is leaking and needs to be replaced.

Removal 1. Shut off the water to the faucet. 2. Loosen the handle nut and pull up on the cartridge to remove from the faucet body. 3. Remove the temperature index and unthread the set screw from the handle.

Installation 1. Place replacement cartridge into the faucet body. 2. Tighten the cartridge nut onto the valve body. 3. Place the handle on top of the cartridge, use the set screw to attach the handle to the cartridge and cover set screw with temperature index.

• These cartridges only turn a quarter turn. Therefore, the handles should turn straight out at you when faucet is in the “on/open” position.
