Operation and Maintenance
Troubleshooting
- Problem: Water continuously running out of the spout.
- Cause: Hot or Cold Cartridge is not shutting off properly.
- Corrective Action: Shut of the water supply to the cold water on the faucet. Did the leak stop? Yes- Replace the Cold Ceramic Cartridge. No- Replace the Hot Ceramic Cartridge.
Removal
1. Shut off the water to the faucet.
2. With a flat blade screwdriver, gently remove the temperature index on the top of handle revealing the handle set screw.
3. With a Philips screwdriver, unthread the set screw from the handle.
4. Remove handle, and pull up on the escutcheon revealing the cartridge nut.
5. Loosen the handle nut, being careful not to scratch the nut. This will allow access to the cartridge.
6. Pull up on the cartridge to remove from the faucet body
Installation
1. Place the cartridge down into the valve body.
2. Place the cartridge nut over the cartridge, and thread onto the valve body. Gently tightening with your fingers.
3. Place the handle on top of the cartridge with the handles facing straight out at you.
4. Turn the handle out, and away from the faucet spout.
5. Now tighten the cartridge nut down into place, carefully not to scratch the nut.
6. Remove the handle from the cartridge once again.
7. Place the escutcheon back over the cartridge nut.
8. Thread the handle set screw back into place reattaching the handle.
9. Pop the Temperature index back into the handle covering the handle set screw.
10. Repeat steps on both Hot or Cold Cartridges.
11. Turn on the hot/cold water and make sure the faucet is working properly.
